Legacy Town Center
Located North of Dallas, Legacy Park is a large, master-planned office park from the late 1980s, that today spans over 2500 acres and houses over 50,000 workers. DPZ, in collaboration with RTKL Architects and Post Properties, designed the 150-acre infill, mixed-use town center to provide a 400-room convention hotel; 500,000 square feet of Main Street shops and entertainment space; 2,400 units of multi-family housing; and additional office space.
The transit ready location adjacent to the Dallas North Tollway provided an ideal opportunity to balance the various corporate headquarter campuses with residential, retail, and lodging. In addition to the convenience of shopping, dining, and living within a short distance of their workplace, in a lively, pedestrian-friendly environment, workers and residents also have the amenity of a 3-acre lake park at the heart of the town center for outdoor concerts and recreational space.
Accessible parking was accommodated in lined parking structures tucked within the courtyard apartment perimeter blocks, thus securing a walkable streetscape that permits broad, tree-lined sidewalks with outdoor dining.
