DPZ Pacific, DPZ Europe, DPZ Latin America

DPZ's small size is instrumental in maintaining the high standards offered by its planning practice.  By limiting its workload, the principals and directors are able to participate in every project that is selected.  This approach has established DPZ’s reputation for excellence and has greatly increased the reach of the firm’s design philosophy and technique.  As a result, the demand for the firm's time has grown dramatically over the years.  Maintaining the quality level required to achieve equal results for projects beyond practical reach requires the location of talented professionals in various regions of the world to leverage and train new resources.

This model for extending DPZ's reach without diluting its strength is an expansion of the firm's historical business practice.  The firm has always teamed with professionals in a process of mutual learning to ensure that its projects are designed to the highest standards.  For two decades, DPZ has operated as a “virtual firm,” effectively involving the most advanced practitioners in its work.  Teams are constructed and dismantled as needed on a project-by-project basis.  Over the years these individuals have become valuable resources available to assist DPZ with a wide variety of projects across North America

The affiliate firms are organized in emulation of this model.  Each is an independent firm with its own network of professionals trained and led by its principals.  Inherently flexible in their practice, the affiliates are able to respond to regional conditions of culture and market without hesitation.  These offices are tied to DPZ through the creation of a research and development academy being established by DPZ in Miami, ensuring that the best practices in the field are shared across the system and that all work is developed to DPZ standards.  The combination of DPZ in Miami and affiliate firms in other locations optimizes the design techniques and talents of DPZ at a global scale.
