Dear Staff and Editor:

I have now in my possession a total of five copies of the latest issue of Architecture, most having arrived unrequested.

I know very well that you are trying to raise subscriptions by giving them away, but it would be a more lasting strategy if you addressed the heart of your problem, which is that the magazine is mostly irrelevant to the real world of architecture. You can test this by comparing your content with that of your advertising pages.

I am sure you could save yourself and your jobs if you digested some of the truly useful issues the Progressive Architecture was addressing before you swallowed them. There was some real protein there.

Sincerely,

Andres M. Duany
